This brand-new H.A. Vas Dias baroque oboe is a museum-quality reproduction of one made by Nicolas Hotteterre. This handmade and easy-playing instrument by master craftsman Harry Vas Dias is pitched at A=415.
The body is stunningly beautiful Boxwood, finished in sweet almond oil. Tenon ends are hand wrapped. The key system is handmade of brass.
This is an inspired reproduction of a Hotteterre original which was measured and examined by Mr. Vas Dias in Brussels. There are very few of these handmade, museum-quality instruments available. Mr. Vas Dias has just celebrated his 99th birthday. How many more will be made?
